Top of the morning to you friends. Does not feel like a Monday, but this is partly due to me being off work until Tuesday. Wonderful day out side...I've been trying
to think of something productive to start the day off, so here I am. Smiling! This past weekend brought a wonderful music extravaganza at the Ribo' Rama bash.
The bands were fabulous and the food deserves a standing ovation. I think I must have had 5 plates before the festivities came to an end. I need to remember not
to eat like that at the next Ribo' Rama. That or wear some jeans that have those stretchy elastic bands inside of them...lol.
I spent most of Sunday reviewing the photo's from the party. One thing led to another and before I knew it half the day had passed. The end result gave me what I
am sharing with you hear on the site today. Each and every one of these bands delivered a sound of talent and energy that warms the soul. It feels good to know
that on any given day of the week I can catch these musician playing in and around here in the South Austin Area.
Not really quite sure what my next musical extravaganza will be. More than likely, due to work, I will not have the opportunity to get out to dance to any tunes until
the Happy Jack Event next Saturday (details of the Party are in the previous journal update). I still have no clue on the line up for this event. If I find out in time I
will let you know and tie you some links to the musicians websites.
Another thing that I am excited about is MySpace.
Jes the Adventurer tried getting me into theis site way back when. I have recently began networking on the site
and have found it as a perfect source of finding many wonderful musician here within Austin and more. Many of these musicians have made their music available
for free downloads. This means a much larger selection of me to chose from when chosing theme music. In addition to this bulletins are posted letting you know
when and where your favorites are playing.
Click here to check it out friends!                 Thanks for dropping in again! Hope all of you have enjoyed the theme
music with the
Shelley King Band, and the Art of the musicians I had the opportunity of photographing. Have a great week and I hope to see ya saturday! ( :

Hello! I have just enough time to share a few. Hope Monday is treating you well. So far so good at my end. It was nice to awake to the rain this morning. Hopefully
mother nature will bring more of this over the next week or so.

Leeann's party was fantastic, I wish I had the time to share more of the photography captured at the shin dig with you. I have always heard how wonderful her Full
Moon parties were and now without hesitation I can say that I understand why.

The other photo's were taken while shopping at Planet K on Lamar. Halloween is right around the corner and they have  a ton of kewl halloween nit-naks to
choose from. The 3 Girls in Disguise above are wearing a few, but my favorite is The Mask and the hat that I'm sporting...lol.

Well, Im off to work, but I hope to be back later this week to share Sundays adventure at Marias Taoc Xpress and more info. on things to come. Until then try to
stay dry and enjoy the day with something that endures..."a smile". ( :

Hello friends,
Thanks for returning to the site. I wanted to invite everyone to the Noele Madewell Benefit this Saturday, October 21st (3:00 pm – 9:00 pm) at Maria’s Taco Xpress
located at 2529 S. Lamar Blvd. (444-0261).

Noele, wife of David Madewell and mother of four, was diagnosed with cancer several months ago. Noele has a beautiful spirit and a great heart and has always
given bountifully to the community. Now she needs our support. Funds raised will go toward medical expenses for her treatment.

Suggested donation for Live music is $10.00 and there will be a Silent Auction that ends at 8:00 pm. If anyone would like to donate an item please contact Susan
Lohman at 828-5198 or email: suki76710@yahoo.com. I plan to donate some Art with Leeann Atherton.

Leeann Atherton, Slim Richey Dream Band, and David Madewell will be taking the stage on behalf of Noele Madewell’s cause. Come enjoy the tunes on Saturday
and no need to be present for the results of the silent auction. Absent winners well be notified.

Hope to see you there,
Wesley
The Durdens grabbed the attention of many last Sunday at Marias with their performance. This was my first time to hear the Gospel Band perform
and I speak for all when I say they raised my spirit.

Hello Austinuts,
Just wanted to drop in for a short voodoo spell and let you know how things turned out at the Noele Madewell benefit. Thanks to all the wonderful donations at the
private auction and the wonderful musicians who were able to volunteer their time, we were able to raise $4000.00 plus for the family to use toward medical
exspenses.
As for this evening, I plan to attend the 25th Annual Halloween Party in South Austin (A costume exstravaganza that has become a South Austin tradition.) If you
can make it, DRESS UP AS YOU AERNT, and come enjoy the festivities.
For those of you who are familiar with Dave and Cindy's (located off Slaughter Ln.) then this will be another hot spot for this Saturday night. We hope to make it
by there after burning a few hours at the first party.
I am a bit belated with this info., and for that I apologize, nevertheless; just check back here within a week or so to appreciate some of the memories I will have the
opportunity to photograph.   Thanks for dropping in for a look-see, I hope you have enjoyed the photography/Art, and stay tuned for more to come.

Hello Favored Companions,
"Happy Halloween" I have the day off, so I am going to use it to share the photo's of all the wonderful Austinuts who were kind enough to share a smile while in
costume at the Halloween Extravaganza that I was able to attend this past Saturday. The party was fantastic! I wish I would have had the time to make 2 others
that I hear were a blast.  I hope to make it to another shin-dig this evening. I guess my next mission will be to find out which one I can make after getting my Son to
bed this evening. He's 12 and has not outgrown the excitement of crashing the neighborhood in search of hands to fill his Central Market brown bag with a ton of
goodies. No arguments here...I love crashing his bag after he fills it up...lol.

Jes the Adventurer  is on his way back to the Netherlands to continue his adventures in Europe. I would like to share a link with you that he has sent me of his
latest adventure. While in Atlanta he was able to sky dive for his first time and did so while being video taped. The skit is "totally awesome", I had to watch it about
5 times. I am sure those of you who know Jes well (Ruta Maya's) will surely appreciate  the energy that fills the heart while watching him float in the air at speeds
over 100 plus mph. It's great I tell ya! Check it out!
Click here to see him Jump!

I think I have all the details on the Happy Jack event for those of you who are ready for a party to write home about. Happy Jack has worked with Ruta Maya for
years and is the most talented embroidering artist that I have ever had the pleasure of befriending. Last year's event was a perfect opportunity for us to all pull
together to raise money for medical expenses that Jack needed. This year Jack has requested that the funds go toward the expenses of the bash. This in turn
means a fabulous musical line up. I am not up to speed on what the line up will be at this years event but when I do have more info I will tune you in. The party will
be held on 11-11-06 (Saturday), so this has me smirking in joy because I will not be out of town on work as I had thought I would be.
the Party!

This coming weekend will be a treat for those of you who can attend the Annual Rib-o-Rama VIII party at Dave and Cindy's. The party will be held from 2pm-2am
at 11241 Slaughter Drive. BBQ provided, but the party is also a big hit with the Pot Luck so take some time to whip up your favorite dish to share wih everyone.
The Pot Luck last year was "fantastic". The musical line-up is as follows:
Mother Truckers, Leroi Brothers, Flounders Without Eyes, Miss Lavelle White Band,
Shelley King Band, Trent Turner & Moontowers , Leeann Atherton Band , Agave Tribe and iMBiBE. I hope not to miss a single one of these bands, so be sure to
drop in for some favorite photo's and future Art that I may be inspired to create.
As for now my neighboring ghouls and goblins, I am off to get  artistic with the flyer a friend has sent me for the Ribo-Rama party. I hope you enjoy the photo's
from the Annual Halloween Extravaganza. Have a wonderful evening this Halloween, be safe, and watch out for the booger man!

Hey friends! Hope everyone's November was filled with as much worthy life experience as my own. So much more to learn and the green behind my ears thickens
more and more with everything life seems to deliver. Aside from "W" orking, "E" ating, and   "S" leeping, (WES...tee hee!) I was able to enjoy some fantastic music.
Along with this comes the benefit of spending time with like minded folks who appreciate and love life as much as we do our own. Fine feelings like this keep me up
the river with paddles to spare and help to inspire me to continue my work here with Austinithinkyoushine.

Along with a fantastic Thanksgiving spent with family, I was able to attend 3 musical getaways that I am sharing with you here today. The Larry Lange and the
Lonely Knights band (performing at the Shoal Creek Salon), the Happy Jack Party at Ruta Maya, and a dear friends birthday party (South Austin's own Hippie
Chef...James Pearse) have brought some great memories that have been captured indefinitely. Even better is many of these photos helped to inspire some of the
Art you see here today.

This morning I have updated Ruta Mayas own
Jes the Adventurer link. Jes is back in Endhoven (Netherlands) and his adventures continue as he moves into the
New Year. For those of you who are not up to speed on this, I have been sponsoring his journeys over the past year here on the site. His journeys along with his
journalism have had a tremendous influence on me. Pay Jes a visit to appreciate his journalism, adventures, and photos of the Netherlands.

For those of you who love
Ruta Maya and Austin Daze you will be pleased to know that  soon I will have photos and Art captured at Ruta Maya! Ruta Maya has
posted a link on thier website to Austinithinkyoushine so you can easily drop by when your visiting their site. In addition to this the Austin Daze Zine will use some of
this photography in upcoming issues in 2007. Austin Daze Rocks! What does all of this mean? This means more hits on the site which will lead to more exposure
for all of us who work so hard to keep Austin the most wonderful place in Texas. Gotta love it man!

Which brings thought of my next project (a.k.a. Musical Escape)! Tomorrow (Sunday December 3 @ 4:00 pm)
Leeann Atherton is having her Full Moon Barn Yard
Dance (3600 South 2nd Street Austin, TX 78704) with a line-up that "rocks!" Celebrate the Season with the Sisters! I have only had the opportunity of attending
one of her parties, and I had SO MUCH FUN last time that I can hardly wait for this one.

Well dear friends both old and new, I wish you a month filled with happiness and a holiday filled with love. I plan to spend my Christmas here at home this year. I am
really not sure when I will have the opportunity between now, the holidays, and the New Year to drop back in for an update, but rest assured I will be back when the
time presents itself. Along with this return will come new adventures, music, and Art/Photos for your minds eye to explore.

Yours Truly,

Larry Lange and his Lonely Knights band rock the house  every other Friday night at the

jumping up and down on the bed as I rocked out to my favorite old time Rock n Roll.  I
would pretend I was Elvis and jump myself to exhaustion.

Top of the New Year to you dear friends! Another wonderful Christmas in Austin has come to pass and I do hope yours was as memorable and priceless as my
own. I spent Christmas here at home with my loved ones. My Son turned 13 on Dec. 27th and he is out of school for the holidays, so much of my time has been
spent here at home enjoying his transition into the life of a teen. I have to say that it is a "major trip" watching him grow into  a young man. I am very proud of him
as he continues to amaze me with his progress in dealing with life's lessons. It is a bit scary at times due to the fact that I still see him as a bouncing 3 year old
toddler with a smile that could split a pear! If I could only convince father time to slow the clock down  a spell or two. I am so thankful that I am able to be a part of
his daily life and to have the opportunity to help mold his understanding of what is real and important in life. I guess in this regard I should embrace what father
time has to offer and be grateful with the time that is there. A New Year to learn, grow, teach, and love. What more could any family wish for!
As for today, I plan to sit here and listen to my favorite locals here in South Austin (Burton and the Freefallers are playing now...smiling), decide on a song to
share, and turn you on to some kewl art and photography. I attempted sending a kewl Art flick to all my friends and loved ones during the holidays but my mail
server was unable to get it out successfully. I did manage to get it to
Leeann Atherton, but for some reason she was the only one who was able to receive it. She
loved it and asked if she could share it with her friends. Im not sure if she had any success in doing this, but thanks to this website I am able to share it here with all
of you now. The flick consist of about (?) pieces of art I created this past year of local musicians and friends. Guess next time I should count them...lol. I had to
keep much of my art out of the flick in order to keep it from exceeding the duration of the music. Anyway, the flick is not long but the song playing is truly music to
appreciate. (Big Sky by Abra Moore.) Abra Moore totally rocks and if you have not caught her live in action you truly need to. After you listen to her song I am
positive that you will want too.
In addition to  this flick I am sharing photography captured  at
Leeann Arthertons New Year's party at Ruta Maya (John Hogan and the Jinx Street Stompers) and
the Ejammers New Years party held in South Austin. To be honest, I have yet to have the time to look at and appreciate what I was able to capture. Much of my
time today will be spent reviewing and preparing this work for today's publication. In saying that,  I am anxious to move on with this day as it is this type of work that
takes me into my internal mode. My photography and art have become  a part of  everyday necessity that brings a balance that I continually crave.  It's played a
key role in helping me to escape many demons over the past few years. This has become a strength for me, and it continues to grow as I share my world with you
here at austinithinkyoushine.
Im sure that I can speak for Jes the Adventurer when I say that he too has found this website to be a tool in sharing what is important to him as he works through
his maze of life's lessons. I hope to hear from Jes within the next few days or so for his latest update from the Netherlands. As soon as I do you will surely be the
first to get it so be sure to drop back in to see what his photography and deep words of journalism will have to deliver.
In closing dear friends, I wish all of you a peace driven and spiritually balanced year. Remember that you are in control of what needs to be appreciated in life. We
are a reflection of everything that we have and will continue to encounter throughout our lives. This should never be taken lightly, rather used with influence to
make our worlds a better place both outside and within.
Very Truly Yours,
Welsey Balli

Hello dear friends and neighbors far and wide. The far and wide part is due to
Jes the Adventurer. He continues his adventures overseas and has brought his
latest journal update to me this morning for publishing.  Along with this comes many like minded souls from abroad who have come to love the Austin scene as
much as yours truly. He was just as excited as myself to find that the hits to our website are growing by the day and have surpassed the goal of 10,000 hits by
topping off at 11,624. Feels good to know that people can appreciate what we are doing and even tickles the heart more to know that they have come to love this
site enough to return.

Hard to believe over a month has passed since my last entry. I have been soooo busy over the past few weeks that I have not had the time to dedicate for an
update. The good news is that I "have" had the time to get out and about to capture some fantastic photos to add to my/our collection of memorabilia. As I say this,
I think to myself what I intend to share here with you today. The list is long.

In all honesty, I had not planned to give this update until later next week. When I found Jes ready to go this morning, and the fact that the hits on the site are
climbing by the day, I found myself more than compelled to dedicate this morning/afternoon to you.

Photos of the Elvis birthday party at the Continental Club, a ton of musicians/Friends from past
Ejammer parties, and a memorial held for Sandy Ellsworth at Dave
and Cindys in South Austin are flooding my mind right now. In order to share more of this photography with you I have created two separate videos of the musical
parties. For those of you who did not know Sandy, she was a dear friend and supporter of many local musicians here in Austin and helped oh so many when the
need came for a warm shoulder to appreciate. She will always be loved and remembered by all whom you will have the chance to see here today.

Before I close and move on to viewing what needs to be shared with you here today, I want to share an upcoming day in the sun with you. Some friends of mine
(
Sweet Potato Pie) have just announced that they will be playing at a 2nd Saturday musical extravaganza this coming weekend.

Saturday, February, 10 2007 at -Second Saturday- featuring: Williams Garage, Sweet Potato Pie and The Dotted Line
12137 Pecan Dr., Austin, Texas 78727
Cost : $7.00 suggested minimum donation.

Second Saturday is a monthly event held by musicians, for musicians. They provide food, beverages, a large outdoor stage and always have a bon fire. Later in
the evening they have an open mic. Those of you that want to participate are encouraged to bring your instrument along. Local acts that would like information on
booking please contact Second Saturday for details.
http://www.myspace.com/2saturday

This will be a great opportunity to hear some kick ass jam and for those of you who are ready to share your sound click the link above and get your foot in the
door for future jams.

As for now, I'm off to browse through some favorites to share with you here and until my next opportunity to share, I will continue to capture what I love the most...
Smiles, music, and something we all have in common. Love for the kewlest town in Texas.
Yours Truly,
Wesley
